The Role: Lead Smoke Alarms Australia’s technical direction and oversee the building, maintaining, and scaling of products and systems. Manage technology requirements, guide development work, and ensure infrastructure is reliable and secure. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Build a strong relationship with Alive Serve and develop thorough proprietary system knowledge Coordinate and prioritise activity schedules and workflow tracking, across internal and offshore teams, to ensure projects are delivered on time and to expected quality standards Maintain and evolve SAA’s technology roadmap & architecture in alignment with business goals Translate business product and operational needs into clear, actionable technical requirements Evaluate, recommend and implement technologies, tools, and platforms that support scalability, security, and long-term growth Enforce technical standards, documentation practices, and governance processes Be actively involved in hands‑on coding, problem‑solving, and technical decision‑making Review and maintain high standards of code quality, delivery and deployment Keep projects on track, identify risks early, and help remove blockers to ensure delivery Oversee cloud and system infrastructure to ensure stability, performance, and security Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors, service providers, and tech partners Oversee DevOps practices, automation initiatives, and deployment pipelines Work closely with Arcanys to recruit, develop and grow team capability Build a solid working relationship with Johns Lynn Group and meet their reporting requests Define and drive the organisation’s AI adoption and integration strategy The Company Backed by the Johns Lyng Group, Smoke Alarms Australia is the name you can trust to manage maintenance and compliance. Key Selection Criteria: 5 years’ professional experience in senior software engineering or technology leadership roles Degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar academic qualifications Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical execution Strong technical proficiency in SAA’s core technology stack or demonstrated ability to learn fast Experience in writing both raw SQL and LINQ Proficiency in developing and reviewing C#/.NET Core code Experience working with, and ideally leading, an offshore software development team Solid understanding of system development tools and life cycle, from requirements gathering & analysis, through to design, development, review, QA, deployment, and continuous improvement Sound understanding of cloud infrastructure, architecture, and modern development practices Exceptional technical, communication and problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset Ambition to grow into a broader technology leadership role as the company scales It is essential that you demonstrate in your career, proven experience in your field of expertise.
