The Manufacturing Engineer (Mechatronics focus) applies manufacturing engineering expertise to develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and documentation to meet current and future safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements. The role has a strong automation and controls emphasis, delivering safe, efficient, high-quality manufacturing solutions through PLC/SCADA/HMI systems, robotics, and industrial networks, while partnering with Product Development and suppliers to ensure robust, manufacturable designs and successful NPI scale-up. Letâs Talk About Responsibilities Develop and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities, and documentation to meet current and future production volumes, quality, OH&S, and cost targets. Resolve manufacturing technical issues using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis, while ensuring compliance with OH&S guidelines. Support robotics integration, machine vision, and machine safety systems (e.g., Pilz or equivalent), including risk controls and commissioning support. Represent Manufacturing Engineering in cross-functional teams and work closely with Product Development to ensure robust, manufacturable products (DFA/DFM input as required). Complete process validation activities and maintain associated documentation. Identify and implement quality and efficiency improvements using GMP, Lean, and Six Sigma methods. Help define technical requirements and global scalability considerations for NPI equipment and automation, using established vendor-selection templates and cross-functional review processes. Support FAT/SAT activities and coordinate with vendors and project management to deliver equipment commissioning and handover.
