This role will provide subject matter expertise in a business support discipline to respective functional area as well as technical guidance, mentoring and support to the Business support officers to ensure that they are operating as a high functioning team. Flexibility is required should backup / rotating of either staff or self within the other functional teams to ensure the smooth operating of the section. About You We are seeking a Senior Business Support Officer who consistently role models a positive safety culture, demonstrating strong adherence to Health and Safety Management Systems through visible leadership, due diligence, and effective management of compliance and legislative obligations. You will have proven expertise in administrative, executive support, or financial roles, supported by experience leading and mentoring multi disciplinary teams. Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to research, collate information, and maintain a holistic understanding of the section’s purpose, its operating environment, and its role within council and the community. You will bring a flexible approach that enables you to operate effectively across multiple teams, coupled with outstanding customer service capabilities. Experience in supporting process improvement initiatives that contribute to high performing and cohesive team environments is highly valued. Advanced desktop and business application proficiency—including mapping, record keeping, financial, and mobility systems—along with high level skills across the Microsoft Office suite, is required. A sound understanding of finance procedures, particularly procurement and debtor management, will further support success in this role.
