Cross River Rail is shaping the future of Brisbane, and we are looking for a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead a team delivering external communication, stakeholder engagement and issues management for construction activities across the program. You will ensure businesses and communities impacted by construction and network disruptions are proactively and compliantly engaged with, and that contractor engagement aligns with project obligations. This role is critical in making sure communication is clear, timely, and aligned with project milestones and government regulation. You will help minimise disruption while keeping local communities informed and supported. The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street. Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland. The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with Department of Transport and Main Road. These include accessibility rebuilds for surface stations, construction of new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system. About The Role Reporting directly to the Director, Stakeholder Engagement and Issues Management this position leads a high performing team to manage external communication, stakeholder engagement and issues management in support of Cross River Rail construction works. Your role will focus on fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project approvals, and proactively managing reputational risks. Working closely with government agencies, contractors, and internal teams, you will ensure engagement efforts align with project milestones and community expectations. You'll also provide high-level strategic advice, contribute to government reporting, and ensure external considerations shape decision-making. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until March 2028 with possible extension. Key Responsibilities Lead and support a team to deliver coordinated, high-quality engagement and communication activities. Oversee the develop and implementation of tailored stakeholder engagement strategies to support project objectives. Manage the implementation of stakeholder strategies with relationship owners. Lead the planning and execution of communication strategies, including public notifications, community updates, and issue resolution during construction phases. Ensure stakeholder engagement and communication activities comply with the conditions of approval, regulations and governance requirements. Oversee the integration and alignment of stakeholder engagement activities with project milestones and construction timelines. Identify emerging stakeholder concerns and provide strategic advice to support risk mitigation and decision making. Develop and implement strategies to manage stakeholder issues proactively. Act as the key liaison between the Delivery Authority, contractors, and government agencies, ensuring alignment of engagement activities. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of engagement strategies. Support government reporting, including ministerial briefings and board reports. About You Extensive experience in developing, managing and monitoring complex stakeholder communications on major infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience leading high performing teams and guiding contractor stakeholder engagement requirements Strong ability to build, influence, and maintain relationships across internal, government, industry, contracting and community stakeholders. Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholder engagement activities in a fast paced environment. Understanding of government reporting requirements, regulatory frameworks, and compliance in stakeholder engagement. High level verbal and written communication skill.
