Join the Equifax ANZ Legal, Risk and Compliance team as a Legal Assistant, providing critical operational and practice support to our General Counsel and her teams. You will facilitate a centralised coordination model for a leadership group managing five distinct non-financial risk classes. This position balances executive assistance with practice administration to ensure the legal department remains organised and supported. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to regulatory practices and non-financial risk management, serving as a foundational career step for a professional looking to build a career in a corporate legal environment, or for a legal assistant who has strong experience with the some of the below. We are open to suggestions of part time - we could potentially make 3 or 4 days per week work for this role. What you’ll do Executive Support: Coordinate the General Counsel’s schedule, travel logistics, and monthly expense reconciliations. Intake Management: Manage the centralised intake process for the Regulatory and Contracts teams to ensure all matters are accurately tracked and triaged. Regulatory Compliance: Support the legal team’s professional standing by managing lawyer registrations and tracking mandatory CPD requirements for the Legal Practitioners Board. Information Security: Handle documentation within the framework of legal professional privilege, maintaining the highest standards of data sensitivity and confidentiality. Team Engagement: Manage the team environment by coordinating internal initiatives and sourcing external subject matter experts for guest speaking engagements. Administrative Operations: Execute high-volume administrative tasks, including document filing, large-scale copying, and the organisation of legal briefs. Workflow Optimisation: Evaluate existing intake workflows to identify and implement more efficient methods for capturing and organising information. Professional Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for external legal counsel and internal business units. What experience you need Technical Proficiency OR Academic Background: Demonstrated experience supporting a legal team or practice previously or academic grounding (we could consider a current final year student or recent law graduate). Office Operations: Previous experience in a professional office environment performing core administrative or financial tasks, such as expense reporting or document control. Instructional Accuracy: A proven track record of following complex, multi-step instructions with a high degree of precision. Confidentiality Standards: A verified understanding of legal professional privilege and the requirements for handling sensitive corporate information.
