About the Position: The Software Engineer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining Pliny's cloud-based medical imaging platform. You will work on creating robust solutions for data storage, retrieval, and integration with diverse ophthalmology equipment and systems, ensuring high performance, security, and usability for clinicians. This role is vital to our mission of eliminating data silos in eye care practices, enabling faster and more accurate clinical decisions, and supporting the growth of our innovative health tech solutions from our Bellfield office. Key Responsibilities: Designing, developing, modifying, documenting, testing, implementing, installing and supporting software applications and systems Researching, consulting, analysing and evaluating system program needs Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in an applications programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification Providing advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Required qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline (as per ANZSCO requirements for Skill Level 1). Required experience: Minimum of one year of relevant experience. Required technical and interpersonal skills: Strong programming and problem-solving abilities with experience in cloud technologies, system integration, databases and API development; excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills suitable for a full-time office-based team environment.
