Job Description: As a Chef at Whyalla Waves Cafe, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen and be confident in preparing both café-style classics and globally inspired meals. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a diverse range of meals in line with our menu offerings Specialise in Mexican and Italian cuisine, chicken dishes, healthy wraps, and egg-based breakfast items Prepare popular café meals such as fish and chips, a variety of burgers, big breakfasts, eggs benedict, pulled beef brisket, and a range of fresh salads Prepare and present a selection of sweets including cakes, slices, pies, and pasties Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service Assist with inventory control and stock ordering Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations Requirements: 2–3 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen Strong skills in preparing Mexican and Italian dishes, wraps, burgers, chicken meals, and breakfast items Experience working with a wide menu that includes hot and cold beverages, salads, and café-style desserts Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment A passion for food, creativity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals If you're adaptable, creative, and organised – and enjoy working in a fun and supportive environment – we'd love to hear from you!
