Our People Experience & Talent Lead is the glue to all the operational and team related initiatives at Eatclub. As a people-first organisation, it is your job to make sure that all employees have what they need to make their maximum contribution to the company. You will work with the Head of People across a number of projects, including our internal programs, coaching and supporting team leaders, and managing our workspaces in a way that is both impactful to business growth and cost-effective. What you’ll own Your week will span four key areas: 1. Recruitment (primary focus for the first 3-4 months) - We’re ramping up hiring in 2026, and you’ll be leading the charge. This means setting up new roles, coaching hiring managers through the process, screening candidates, owning the candidate experience from first touch to offer, and helping us evolve our recruitment program as we grow. You’ll bring structure and warmth to every part of the funnel. 2. People Partnering: You’ll be the go-to for our leaders and managers when they need a sounding board, a coach, or someone to help them navigate a tricky people situation. From performance conversations to team planning to organisational effectiveness, you’ll help our leaders make confident, values-aligned decisions. 3. People Programs & Internal Initiatives; Working under the direction of the Head of People, you’ll help design and run our internal programs end-to-end: onboarding, learning & development, compensation cycles, feedback programs, team building, and engagement initiatives. You’ll be the person who turns a strategy into something people actually feel. 4. Office Operations & Community: EatClub isn’t just a team; it’s a community. You’ll be the engine behind our Sydney office experience and team rituals: our All Hands, Friday Afternoon Drinks, Lunch & Learns, team lunches, and the day-to-day rhythms that make our workplace somewhere people want to be. As we prepare for a brand-new Sydney space in 2027, this area will grow into a bigger part of the role - including running the space and maintaining our compliance and efficiency standards high! . Type of projects you’ll be working on… Here are some examples: Recruitment: Playing a key part in keeping the recruitment program running, from screening to candidate comms, to coaching our hiring managers through the process, directed and supported by the Head of People. This will be the first major project this role will lead in 2026. People & Culture backbone: The right hand to the Head of People: we are counting on your professionalism and discretion to help drive strategic People & Culture projects forward, including compensation, feedback, team building, engagement initiatives and organisational development. Leadership Support & Partnering: being the strategic liaison between team leaders and senior leadership and the People & Culture function. You will coach leaders through and help them manage employee relations, talent planning. You will also use data-driven insights to improve performance, culture, and organisational effectiveness under the direction of our Head of People. Internal Programs: The People Team is tasked with the UX of the internal EatClub team. We look after everything from Induction and on-boarding, to training and development, to team events and celebrations. Rituals: building engaging remote and in-person experiences that reinforce our values, bring people together and help them do their best work. On any given week, you’ll be working with the Chief of Staff on the Monthly All Hands, organising a Lunch and Learn in our Sydney office, liaising with our co-working space management to ensure the best in-office experience, and managing the success of our Friday Afternoon Team Drinks! Please note: we will prioritise candidates who can start right away. The must haves… A background, interest or curiosity in human resources and operations management. Exceptional communications skills, with focus on managing up and down (stakeholder management). A sixth sense about prioritisation and delegation. The power to produce great experiences - both internally and externally - with a limited budget and timeline. The ability to communicate with patience, kindness and clarity both in person and in writing. It would be extra awesome if you also had: Familiarity with lean startup methodologies, human-centric design, and/or working in environments with limited resources. Dexterity with online tools (Notion, Confluence, Employment Hero, HiBob, Google Suite, etc). A background in recruitment, talent acquisition or internal people programs. Enthusiasm and experience for making workspaces effective and fun! Your mindset and strengths: A master of spreadsheets and Google Suite tools. Able to start a project with limited information. Excited to take the next step in your business management, people, or human resources career. If you do a good job: This is a role where doing a good job is visible and rewarding. Similar roles at EatClub have been remarkable career springboards because they showcase a rare combination of strategic thinking, operational precision, and human touch that stands out in any organisation. In your first 90 days, you’ll have owned your first full recruitment campaign, built strong relationships with EatClub’s leaders, and put your stamp on at least one People program or ritual. Within 12 months, you’ll be a genuine second voice in the People & Culture team, shaping how EatClub grows its culture as it scales. Maybe this role is not for you if…. You get overwhelmed working on multiple projects simultaneously. This role moves fast and requires context-switching. You prefer to operate solo rather than as a connector between teams, functions and people. You need high levels of structure and direction to do your best work. Uncertainty makes you uncomfortable. Startups deal with ambiguity every day, and this role sits right at the centre of that. One last note: even if you feel that you don’t meet all the criteria above, we encourage you to apply. Past work experience is not the only indicator of future success, and we are on the look out for hungry talent who wants to grow with us. So if you want to be a part of something remarkable, then we’re excited to hear from you. As part of your application, include the word “flamingo” in one of your responses to show genuine interest in the role. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities. If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know. EatClub is committed to building diverse, balanced teams. We warmly encourage applications from people of all genders who are excited about creating inclusive workplaces.
