The Deputy Company Secretary supports the Company Secretary in providing governance and secretariat services to the Board and Committees to meet obligations under the Corporations Act, Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act, APRA Prudential Standards and all other applicable governance requirements. The role You will deliver high‑quality governance support that enables effective Board and Committee operations, applying sound judgement to support clear, well‑informed decision‑making across UniSuper. You’ll contribute to core governance processes, provide practical governance advice and maintain essential governance frameworks, records and documentation. Your work will improve the way governance is practiced across the fund and support UniSuper’s ability to adapt to evolving regulatory expectations. Key responsibilities Deliver secretariat support including meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, paper collation, minute drafting and action‑item monitoring. Support governance advice and updates for the Board, Executive Team and broader UniSuper group on trends, legislative developments and compliance matters. Maintain and update corporate governance documentation, including charters, frameworks, policies and annual agenda programs. Contribute to statutory compliance through preparing and lodging ASIC, APRA and other regulatory forms and announcements. Support governance of subsidiaries by maintaining structure charts and legal entity records. Assist with governance processes for AGM, AMM and CCAM, including materials, notices and meeting documentation. About you You bring strong judgement, integrity and a collaborative approach that helps build trusted relationships with Directors, executives and internal stakeholders. You apply your governance expertise confidently, using clear communication and practical advice to support effective decision‑making. You thrive in a role where attention to detail, discretion and continuous improvement shape the way governance is delivered. You’ll have: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence with credibility. Deep understanding of APRA/ASIC requirements and the ability to simplify complex legislative matters. Demonstrated experience in governance, legal or secretariat roles within regulated financial services or top‑tier legal environments. Strong stakeholder management capability, with confidence to advocate for sound governance practice. Pragmatic problem‑solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement in governance processes. Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Commerce or a related field (GIA preferred; AICD beneficial).
