A top-tier Asset Manager needs a hands-on Service Delivery Lead who will act as the primary technical partner to the Investment team. The Position We are seeking a resilient SDM to join a premier Asset Management firm in Sydney. This is a critical, business-aligned role acting as the primary technology partner for the Investment and Front Office teams. In this environment, technology is the backbone of our market presence. You will be responsible for the end-to-end stability of the investment environment, acting as both a strategic bridge between the business and technical architecture and a hands-on technical lead for immediate operational requirements. The Environment This role operates within a fast-paced, high-stakes trading environment where technology uptime is non-negotiable. You will support Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Analysts, stakeholders who operate under significant pressure and require immediate, precise technical outcomes. Key Responsibilities Serve as the dedicated technical lead for the Front Office, ensuring all investment professionals have the tools and connectivity required to execute market functions. Take full ownership of technical incidents. In the event of a market-impacting failure, you will lead the resolution bridge, manage vendor escalations, and provide clear, real-time updates to senior stakeholders. Provide comprehensive support across the entire technology stack. This ranges from high-level system architecture and workflow optimisation to the immediate, hands-on resolution of end-user compute (EUC) and hardware issues. Maintain and optimise critical trading applications (e.g., Bloomberg, OMS/PMS) and market data feeds, ensuring zero-fail performance during market hours. Translate complex business requirements from the investment team into technical specifications, ensuring that infrastructure upgrades align with the firm's commercial goals. Candidate Requirements Mandatory experience within Financial Services or critical infrastructure. Experience in Asset Management, Hedge Funds, or Investment Banking Front-Office environments is strongly preferred but not essential. A strong generalist background with the ability to navigate complex infrastructure while remaining willing to perform essential desktop and hardware support. Proven experience working in critical infrastructure environments where downtime has immediate financial consequences. You must remain composed and authoritative during high-stress outages. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage demanding personalities. You must be able to push back professionally when necessary and provide high-touch service to senior executives.
