Senior Project Manager - AI Admissions Pilot & Digital Preservation Discovery We're partnering with a leading Australian university to secure an experienced Project Manager for an initial contract role overseeing two concurrent strategic initiatives: an AI-enabled admissions proof of concept and a digital preservation discovery program within the university library environment. This role will play a key part in driving innovation, process automation, and responsible data lifecycle management across the organisation. WHAT'S ON OFFER Initial 6-month contract $1000 a day inclusive of super GST Hybrid working - Melbourne based THE ROLE: Lead an AI admissions pilot proof of concept to assess and demonstrate AI capability in automating and improving admissions processes. Oversee onboarding of vendors and coordination of third-party partners supporting automation and AI solution delivery. Manage change activities required to embed new digital and AI-enabled processes across admissions workflows. Lead a digital preservation discovery initiative focused on legacy iCAR systems and archival content within the university library environment. Explore options for storage, classification, and long-term digital preservation strategies aligned to best practice. Engage with library, records management, IT, and academic stakeholders to define requirements and future-state solutions. Ensure alignment with data governance, data lifecycle management, and data disposal policies and frameworks. Oversee project governance including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies across both initiatives. Provide clear reporting and insights to senior stakeholders on progress, risks, and outcomes. Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams and ensure alignment with broader digital transformation objectives. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 5 years' experience delivering technology, digital transformation, or data-focused projects. Strong background in higher education, tertiary, or public sector environments is highly desirable. Experience delivering AI, automation , or proof-of-concept initiatives is advantageous. Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, data governance, and data disposal practices. Experience working with records management, archival systems, or digital preservation is highly desirable. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in complex environments. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical groups. Experience managing vendors and third-party delivery partners.
