This role ensures the effective allocation of staff, safe and efficient service delivery, and compliance with organisational policies in a fast-paced clinical environment. Your main duties will include: Act as the first point of contact for operational issues affecting Ward Support Officers during shifts. You will foster a positive, respectful, and professional team culture. Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback. You will have commitment to quality patient care, focusing on team customer service and safety You will develop, manage, and maintain staff rosters in accordance with service needs, industrial agreements, and budgetary requirements. Ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet clinical and operational demands. To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following: Demonstrated experience in a healthcare support or ward services role, preferably within a perioperative setting. Proven leadership or supervisory experience. Strong organisational skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety principles. Demonstrated ability to be flexible, by being receptive to new ideas, and responsive to changing work demands and circumstances Commitment to enhance service efficiency and high level of service provision to perioperative surgical teams Extensive knowledge of perioperative equipment applications and management Highly Desirable Experience in staff rostering systems. Understanding of industrial agreements and workforce policies. Certificate or training in leadership, management, or healthcare services.
