An Eastern VIC hospital requires a Senior Medical Officer in General Practice from 09/06/2026 to 12/06/2026. • Tuesday 9th June 0800-0800 – 24 hours on call • Friday 12th June from 5pm to 0800 on Tuesday 16th June. 1 x pro rate shift on the Friday, 3 x full 24 hour on call shifts 0800-0800. Rate for full 24 hours blocks - $2,500 per shift. Rate for pro rata shift - $1565. About the Role: • Provide holistic obstetric and neonatal care in a supportive rural environment. • Manage approximately 150–200 births per year. • Deliver comprehensive care where no on-site paediatrician is available candidates should be comfortable and proficient in managing both well and unwell neonates. • Work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to safe, high-quality rural maternity care. Requirements: • Current registration and experience as a GPO/Obstetrician with recent clinical practice. • PROMPT (obstetric emergency training) or equivalent completed within the last 12 months. • Level 3 FSEP certification current within 12 months. • Neonatal Resuscitation (NNR) certification current within 12 months. • Advanced procedural skills and confidence working independently in a rural setting.
