Job Summary: As a Retail Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, driving profitability, and maintaining high merchandising standards for the store. You will lead, organize, and coordinate store personnel and resources to ensure an efficient, well-prepared environment that delivers exceptional customer service, consistent stock availability, and a clean, safe shopping experience. Responsible for: • Team Leadership & Delegation — Managing the front-end (checkouts), stockroom, and floor teams; delegating tasks to department heads to ensure smooth store operations. • Commercial Oversight — Managing the store’s daily financial performance, visual merchandising displays, and overall operational efficiency. • Store Maintenance & Compliance: Overseeing the hygiene and safety of sales floors and back-of-house areas; ensuring all cleaning and maintenance schedules meet retail standards. • Talent Acquisition: Recruiting and onboarding floor staff to maintain optimal skill levels and headcounts. • Workforce Scheduling: Organizing staff rosters to guarantee high service standards during peak shopping hours. • Operational Agility: Providing hands-on support and covering shifts during staff shortages to maintain uninterrupted service. • Conflict Resolution: Managing customer complaints according to corporate guidelines to ensure high levels of shopper satisfaction and loyalty. • Product Knowledge & Service: Providing customers with detailed product information and coordinating home delivery or Click-and-Collect services. • Financial Integrity: Overseeing end-of-day register balancing and cash-up procedures with a focus on precision and loss prevention. • Strategic Planning: Assisting in the planning of facility upgrades, layout changes, and service enhancements. • Performance Management: Enforcing company regulations and taking necessary disciplinary actions to maintain store discipline. • Staff Engagement: Maintaining high morale and ensuring all team members adhere to professional grooming and uniform standards. • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the store follows all retail laws, health and safety codes, and food handling licenses. • Risk Management: Guaranteeing the safety of patrons and employees both during trading hours and at store closing. • Inventory Control: Supervising the procurement, purchasing, and reordering of groceries and daily essentials. • Reporting: Communicating directly with Company Directors regarding operational challenges or suggested service improvements. • Cost Control: Managing labour budgets and maintaining wage costs within company targets. • Internal Communication: Facilitating effective information flow through regular staff briefings and management meetings. Qualifications/experience: • Must have 5 years of experience in similar setting. • Diploma in Management/Hospitality. • Ability to communicate well in spoken and written English. Salary - $76,600 - $80,000 plus superannuation Only eligible and shortlisted applicants will be considered.
