The role involves assisting with construction planning, documentation, coordination, and onsite activities to ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and workplace health and safety standards. Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 Location: Narangba QLD 4504 Full-time position Key Duties and Responsibilities : Construction Planning, Coordination and Technical Support: Assist with the planning, organisation, and sequencing of construction activities. Interpret construction drawings, building regulations, and applicable codes of practice to ensure compliance with - project and statutory requirements. Produce, edit, and revise plans, maps, charts, and drawings for documentation, approval, and construction purposes in accordance with the project specifications. Coordinate work programs and schedules to support efficient workflow and achievement of project timelines. Inspect construction works and materials to verify compliance with specifications, regulatory requirements, and workplace health and safety standards. Assist with project cost calculations, material quantity take-offs, and preparation of construction schedules. Prepare preliminary sketches, technical drawings, and construction specifications using drafting software and manual drafting methods. Collect and record site data using surveying instruments and measurement tools to support planning, reporting, and documentation. Perform routine calculations and compile preliminary data for project planning, documentation, and reporting. Liaise with contractors, engineers, certifiers, and site personnel to support effective communication and coordination of construction activities. Tilt Panel, Concrete and Structural Works: Perform tilt panel preparation including grinding:joint sealing with specialised silicone, and surface preparation for painting. Install concrete shutters and formwork for slabs, walls, and tilt panels. Support concrete pouring operations including placement, vibration, screeding, and finishing. Conduct concrete cutting, drilling, patching, and grinding for structural modifications and repairs. Complete wire tying and installation of reinforcing steel and reinforcing mesh in accordance with engineering specifications. Assist with roofing steel erection, including fastening, alignment, and safe work at heights. Assist with tilt panel erection, including rigging support, alignment, and compliance with safe lifting procedures. Perform basic welding and grinding tasks for structural preparation. Groundworks, Civil and Site Operations: Carry out groundworks, trenching, excavation support, and general earthmoving tasks. Measure and monitor stormwater drainage flow to ensure correct installation and compliance with design requirements. Operate forklifts, skid steers, and elevated work platforms in accordance with licensing and safety requirements. Assist with panel lifting operations, maintaining safe exclusion zones and communication with crane crews. Transport, collect, and deliver materials, tools, and equipment to and from construction sites. Use a range of hand tools and power tools safely and competently for construction and civil works. Skills and Capabilities : Sound technical knowledge of construction processes and site operations. Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings.
