MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a Local Council in Melbourne’s northern suburbs to appoint an experienced Information Security Specialist for a temporary contract through to the end of June 2026, with potential for extension. This is a great opportunity to apply your expertise in the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) within a collaborative environment, supporting key uplift initiatives across the organisation. About the Role In this role, you will support the delivery of core information security initiatives, working closely with internal stakeholders to strengthen data governance and security practices. Key Responsibilities Deliver two introductory training sessions on Information Security fundamentals Facilitate workshops with departments to update and maintain the Information Asset Register Ensure inclusion of MS Teams channels and SharePoint sites across business units Provide expert guidance on Protective Markings and their correct application Support alignment with VPDSF standards and best practice About You Proven experience working with the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) Strong understanding of Information Security principles and governance Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with non-technical stakeholders Knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments, including Teams and SharePoint Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment What’s on Offer Immediate start opportunity Contract through to June 2026 (with possible extension) Flexible, supportive for-purpose environment Opportunity to make a tangible impact across information security practices If you’re available immediately and have strong VPDSF experience, we’d love to hear from you.
