Our Opportunity NEPEAN Conveyors are seeking a highly experienced Fitter & Turner with 10 years’ hands‑on machining and maintenance experience, strong safety focus, and the ability to manufacture and repair precision components with minimal supervision. The position is a full-time permanent opportunity, located in Unanderra, NSW, your duties will include but are not limited to: Precision fitting, machining and assembly of mechanical components Operation of manual lathes, milling machines and workshop equipment Manufacturing and remanufacturing components to specified tolerances Maintenance, repair and overhaul of plant and equipment Fault diagnosis and implementation of corrective actions Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications Preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime Ensuring compliance with WHS, quality and company procedures Maintaining maintenance records and workshop standards Collaborating with team members and mentoring apprentices as required The Right Person To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will: Be a qualified Fitter & Turner with 10 years of hands‑on industry experience Have a strong background in precision machining and mechanical fitting Demonstrate a high standard of workmanship, attention to detail, and pride in quality outcomes Be confident working independently as well as part of a collaborative team Possess excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic skills Be able to work effectively in time‑critical and breakdown situations Show a strong commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices Be reliable, punctual, and able to manage competing priorities Communicate clearly with supervisors, engineers, and operators Have the capability and willingness to mentor apprentices or junior tradespeople Take ownership of tasks from planning through to completion Maintain a professional, organised, and safety‑focused approach at all times In return, we can offer: Competitive hourly rates Agile and dynamic team culture Great working environment Enviable development and career opportunities.
