About the Studio This is one of those rare opportunities to join a practice that genuinely lives up to its reputation. A Melbourne institution established nearly five decades ago, this multidisciplinary studio has grown into one of Australia's most respected design practices — and they've done it without losing the things that matter most: a genuine design culture, strong and accessible leadership, and a team of people who actually enjoy coming to work. Operating across architecture, interior design, urban design and town planning, they punch well above their weight on design quality while maintaining a reputation for delivering. Their Melbourne studio is nestled in a vibrant inner-city location and has the energy of a practice that's busy for all the right reasons — meaningful projects, repeat clients, and a pipeline that spans living, social housing, build-to-rent, hospitality and mixed-use. This isn't a sausage factory. Work here is end-to-end, design-led, and underpinned by a genuine belief that good architecture improves lives. The Role Due to continued growth, the Melbourne team is looking for a Project Architect or Senior Project Architect to join their studio. You'll be working across a diverse and exciting project pipeline, so experience on large-scale projects is key — and any exposure to multi-residential will be highly regarded. You'll be working across a diverse mix of residential typologies — from premium apartment developments through to social and affordable housing — with involvement from early design through to documentation and delivery. This is a practice that values architects who can hold a project with both hands: someone who cares about the design intent but also knows how to get it built. Depending on your experience level, you'll either hit the ground running as a key project lead or step into a senior role with broader oversight responsibilities. What You'll Be Doing Leading or contributing to projects across all project stages, from concept through to construction Working predominantly within the living sector including, multi res, build-to-rent, social and affordable housing, senior living as well as commercial, civic and mixed use sectors Collaborating closely with Directors and design leads in a genuinely collegiate design environment Consultant coordination, client engagement and managing documentation programs Contributing to a culture that values both design excellence and team wellbeing What You'll Bring Demonstrated experience working end to end on project, ideally with some in Multi-Resi or related size and scale or projects. Strong documentation skills and working knowledge of the NCC/BCA Experience across multiple project stages — you're comfortable in both design and delivery A collaborative approach and the ability to communicate confidently with clients and consultants Revit proficiency expected; additional skills in Rhino, SketchUp or similar well regarded Why This Role? Join a genuinely well-regarded studio with a strong identity and even stronger culture Work on projects that matter — including social and affordable housing alongside premium residential End-to-end involvement — no being siloed into one phase Experienced, approachable directors who invest in their people Flexible working arrangements and a studio that walks the talk on work-life balance Great CBA Melbourne inner-city studio with a beautiful, character-filled workspace How to Apply Press "Apply" and attach: Resume Folio (in place of the Cover Letter — 2MB limit) Please apply via the Apply button as this feeds directly into our system and ensures your application is reviewed promptly.
