Want to work on real, live infrastructure? If you work with electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls or monitoring systems, and want to see how your skills apply in a larger, more complex environment, this evening is for you. CDC is opening its Brooklyn data centre to give you a behind‑the‑scenes look at how critical digital infrastructure is built, operated and kept running 24/7. These are the systems that support everyday life across Australia. In this practical session you’ll see real systems in operation and hear directly from people who do the work every day. Grow your skills in a new environment A data centre brings many trades together on one live site. It’s a chance to use the skills you already have and build on them across integrated, high‑performance systems. You’ll see how electrical, mechanical and controls systems work together, how teams troubleshoot issues, and how responsibility grows with experience. The evening is about: Seeing how your current skills apply in a different setting Understanding what new skills you could develop over time Getting exposure to complex systems you don’t usually see on typical sites Hearing how people have progressed into technical and facilities roles Learning what it takes to keep critical systems running safely and reliably You don’t need data centre experience, just curiosity and an interest in how large‑scale systems work together.
