The ICT Operations Branch delivers critical infrastructure services across the organisation, supporting stable and secure technology for thousands of users. About the role You’ll operate as a Senior Storage Engineer within the Infrastructure Platforms team, responsible for deploying, configuring, managing and tuning enterprise storage systems at both physical and virtual layers. The role also covers SAN switch management, technical documentation, mentoring of junior team members, and contributing to the future direction of the department’s storage and data platforms. This is a vacancy created by a recent departure, not a market test. Duties Deploy, configure and tune enterprise storage systems (HPE Alletra/Primera/3PAR, NetApp E-Series, Dell Data Domain, Scality Artesca) Manage and configure Brocade Fabric Switches and SANnav Produce design, build and operations documentation to a high standard Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge and provide after-hours on-call support as required Contribute to the future direction of storage and data platforms, including evaluation of emerging technologies Skills & experience Australian citizen (mandatory for security clearance eligibility) Demonstrated experience in design, administration, tuning and troubleshooting of enterprise storage platforms (HPE Alletra/Primera/3PAR, NetApp E-Series, Dell Data Domain or equivalent) Strong working knowledge of SAN switching (Brocade Fabric Switches, SANnav) and experience with Veeam Backup and Replication Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation including design documents, build guides and SOPs Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to coach staff and present to stakeholders Desirable Experience working in large, complex data centre environments including virtualisation and server hosting Knowledge of emerging storage and data platform technologies to inform future direction Culture This is a hands-on infrastructure team that values technical depth, reliability and knowledge-sharing.
