About the role: Our client is a large Commonwealth department central to the Australian Government’s economic agenda. The CIO Division provides enterprise ICT capability and is seeking experienced Business Analysts to support a portfolio of digital projects across the division, including artificial intelligence and emerging technology initiatives. Responsibilities: You will work as a Business Analyst embedded in agile delivery teams, translating business needs into clear requirements for complex digital projects including website development. You will facilitate workshops, develop user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborate with technical specialists to design fit-for-purpose solutions. This is a hands-on BA role working across requirements, process modelling, stakeholder engagement and strategic analysis. Facilitate workshops and develop business scenarios, process maps, data models and use cases Analyse business processes, data requirements, user pathways and information flows Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements specifications and functional/non-functional specs Evaluate solution options and translate business requirements into techno-functional requirements Conduct stakeholder engagement and collaborate with technical specialists to solve business problems Conduct technical research and analysis activities in alignment with departmental policies and legislation Analyse proposed solutions from a strategic viewpoint, considering broad impacts across the department and government Essential criteria – please do not apply unless you meet all of the following: Experience facilitating workshops and developing business scenarios, process maps, data models and use cases Experience developing user stories and acceptance criteria for developers Experience working on complex digital projects in an agile environment Excellent communication and presentation skills You must hold a current Baseline security clearance at commencement – this is non-negotiable as the role requires immediate access to PROTECTED information and systems Desirable: Relevant experience implementing IT services Experience documenting requirements for Office technologies Experience using Azure DevOps for user story creation and tracking of acceptance criteria Experience or knowledge of Dynamics 365 or Power Platform This is a well-established ICT division within a large department working across AI, emerging technology and enterprise digital platforms. Teams operate in agile environments with genuine support for flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Multiple BA resources are engaged across the division, so you will be part of a collaborative analyst community.
