Our client is a Melbourne-based company in the building services supply space. They supply plumbing, HVAC, fire protection and electrical products to commercial construction businesses nationally. The business has established themselves as the true frontrunner in the building services industry. Their innovative approach has led to increased efficiencies in the construction industry. Due to growth, the organisation is looking for a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager is responsible for managing the businesses top-tier customer accounts through face-to-face engagement, strategic account planning, and commercial negotiation. You will also be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting net-new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute account plans focused on growth, retention, and margin. Build strong multi-level customer relationships. Identify and convert opportunities within existing accounts. Lead commercial discussions and negotiations. Identify and pursue new customer opportunities, opening doors through proactive prospecting. Progressing new accounts through the development phase. Key experience and skills required: Proven experience in account management/business or a commercial client-focused role (4 years), ideally in a similar industry. Strong understanding of relationship management, growth strategies, and account development. A proven track record of winning, retaining and growing customer accounts Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
