In this hands-on leadership position, you’ll guide a dedicated team to deliver weed, pest, and arboriculture services, while ensuring programs are efficient, compliant, and aligned with Council priorities. You’ll work across diverse landscapes—from urban open spaces to rural reserves—coordinating maintenance activities, supporting community and Landcare initiatives, and responding to customer needs. You'll work with a great team to: Deliver effective weed, pest, and arboriculture management services across the region Coordinate daily operations and support a high-performing Natural Resources team Maintain parks, rural reserves, and open spaces to Council standards Engage with community, Landcare groups, and stakeholders on environmental initiatives Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental regulations, and asset maintenance policies What you'll bring To thrive in this role, you will need: Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management and/or Tree management related field with a willingness to undertake further study in a related field. Experienced in weed, chemical or tree management and reporting systems such as databases, risk assessments. Demonstrated high level communication, inter-personal and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Project. Sound knowledge of WHS principles. Experience in writing reports and collecting evidence for presentation to courts of law in NSW. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Biosecurity Act 2015, Biosecurity Regulation 2017, and the Pesticides Act 1999 We would also love you to have: Pest Control Licence or ability to obtain; and experience in animal control programs.
