Job Summary: The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure cloud-based data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support enterprise analytics and business intelligence. This role focuses on developing reliable data ingestion pipelines, implementing robust ETL and transformation processes in BigQuery, and modeling high-quality analytics-ready datasets using dimensional and domain-oriented design patterns. Responsibilities Design build & maintain scalable and secure data platforms on GCP supporting analytics across data lake and data warehouse architectures. Develop and optimize the data ingestion pipelines using Kafka Azure Service Bus Python and SQL ensuring reliability and SLA adherence. Collaborate with business analytics and engineering stakeholders to translate the requirements into reliable production-ready data solutions. Implement robust data transformation and ETL processes in Big Query delivering high-quality analytics-ready datasets for business and BI consumption. Design and manage Big Query data models with a focus on performance cost optimization and scalability for the workloads. Design curated and raw data zone structures (e.g. landing/raw/cleansed/curated) aligned to governance and access patterns. Model and build analytical datasets in BigQuery using dimensional / domain-oriented patterns (facts dimensions aggregates marts). Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform following Infrastructure-as-Code CI/CD and DevOps best practices. Ensure strong data governance security and compliance including access controls data quality checks monitoring and operational support.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and performance. Standardize transformation patterns (SCD types deduplication late-arriving data handling slowly-changing dimensions etc.). Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data integration and cloud. Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management practices and processes. Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies in all data-related activities. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that drive business value. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and performance.
