This is a high-impact role where you’ll stabilise, optimise, and modernise an existing data ecosystem while helping shape its future architecture. The Role This is a hands-on leadership position combining: Platform ownership (pipelines, reliability, performance) Transformation delivery (Fabric implementation) Team leadership (mentoring engineers, uplifting capability) Stakeholder engagement (working closely with Finance and business teams) What You’ll Be Working On Leading the move to a modern lakehouse architecture Improving data quality, performance, and reliability Managing and modernising legacy pipelines Partnering with stakeholders across Finance, HR, and Digital Working alongside external vendors to deliver the transformation roadmap Current Environment Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse / SQL DW Azure Data Lake SQL Server Power BI / Tableau Transitioning toward a Fabric-based platform What We’re Looking For 10 years’ experience in Data Engineering Strong expertise across Azure data platforms, including experience with Microsoft Fabric Experience delivering data platform modernisation / transformation Strong SQL programming (Python / PySpark / C#) Experience supporting production (BAU) environments Strong stakeholder communication skills Team & Environment Small, collaborative data team High visibility across the business Opportunity to influence long-term data strategy Why This Role?
