Cook Permanent Role $65k-$75k PA Mareeba QLD POSITION Full time position is available for a Cook in Paddy's Green, Mareeba QLD 4880. SKILLS The role requires at least a Certificate III and 2 years of relevant work experience OR a Certificate IV and at least 1 year of relevant work experience OR at least three years of relevant experience. RESPONSIBILITIES The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food as per the menu to provide an excellent guest experience. The Cook is responsible for kitchen operations, creating and updating menus, ordering and managing inventory, managing budgets, ensuring food quality and safety, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. POSITION DUTIES Plan, prepare, and cook meals in accordance with menus, recipes and budget guidelines. Accommodate dietary needs and preferences, including vegetarian and vegan requirements. Apply advanced knife skills, including chopping, slicing, dicing, trimming and other food preparation techniques such as peeling, whisking, rinsing and straining. Prepare salads, garnishes, coatings and batters based on daily operational requirements. Produce dishes using safe and efficient kitchen practices, ensuring consistent quality, flavour and presentation. Inspect ingredients for freshness, quality and proper storage prior to preparation and service. Ensure all food is prepared and served at appropriate temperatures in line with food safety standards. Manage stock levels through accurate ordering, receiving, rotation and inventory control procedures. Receive and unpack deliveries, verifying quantities, condition and expiry dates against supplier documentation. Label, date and store food items correctly to maintain hygiene standards and reduce waste. Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised galley, including adherence to cleaning schedules and end-of-day sanitation. Oversee cleanliness across all food preparation, storage and service areas. Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety regulations, food safety standards and company policies. Identify, address where possible, and promptly report hazards, incidents and accidents.
