This is a Senior Security Specialist role with Queensland Government based in Brisbane, QLD, AU Queensland Government Role Seniority - senior More about the Senior Security Specialist role at Queensland Government This is an exciting Senior Security Specialist role within SOC team, providing advanced technical expertise, leadership, and guidance to SOC Analysts and other stakeholders. You will oversee the detection, response and investigation to complex cyber security incidents, while also driving continuous improvement in SOC processes, tools, and capabilities. As a Senior Security Specialist, You Will Lead the delivery of SOC services, leveraging advanced security tools and technologies. Oversee the monitoring, triaging, and investigation of security alerts and incidents, providing advanced analysis and acting as an escalation point for complex cases. Manage and coordinate incident response activities, including containment, eradication and recovery, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Develop, review and refine incident response playbooks, workflows and standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Use insights gained from investigations and exercises to design and implement new alerting mechanisms, correlations, and automation workflows. Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify and mitigate potential threats within the environment. Lead the configuration, optimisation, and maintenance of security monitoring tools and technologies. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to SOC Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, internal teams and external partners, striving for mutually beneficial outcomes. Stay up to date with emerging threats, technologies, and best practices and provide thought leadership to enhance CITEC's security posture.
