EDQ (Economic Development Queensland) are seeking a Director, Procurement to drive the development and implementation of strategic and innovative procurement solutions that support the delivery of EDQ’s strategic objectives. As the Director, Procurement you will be responsible for leadership in the development and implementation of strategic and innovative procurement solutions that support the delivery of EDQ's strategic objectives in the most efficient, effective and economical manner whilst ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and legislative requirements. Key Responsibilities Will Include Leading the development and implementation of the EDQ-wide procurement strategy, frameworks, and policies, ensuring alignment to best practice, value for money, EDQ strategic objectives, and whole of Government procurement strategy and policy. Developing strategic relationships through a business partnering/customer centric model and engaging with key stakeholders internally and externally on strategic sourcing and procurement matters including representing EDQ in a range of related forums/committees. Providing expert advice to senior and executive leaders on complex, sensitive and/or high-risk procurement and contract management matters, including providing support to high level negotiations. Developing appropriate and scalable procurement strategies whilst ensuring appropriate linkages and consistency with overall whole of Government frameworks. Reviewing submissions, reports and Ministerial correspondence relating to procurement functions and providing responses and interpretations of complex policies while maintaining confidentiality. Leading and building capability of the procurement team by developing the knowledge and skills of its members, to increase the level of professionalism, ensuring probity and transparency to all procurement activities through a culture of best practice and ethical decision making, whilst maximising value for money outcomes. Implementing contemporary human resource, financial and performance management practices that support the delivery of value for money and accountable outcomes. Developing, managing and continually reviewing practices and processes associated with the procurement and supporting systems for improvements. To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: Proven ability to lead strategically and drive strategies that deliver enhanced value for money including social, environmental and economic outcomes. Extensive knowledge and experience in strategic procurement and policy to provide direction and advice and to make decisions that are rigorously considered and supported by a clear rationale. Demonstrated experience in managing a team, providing supportive leadership to empower others to build skills and knowledge and take ownership for delivery and quality outcomes. Advanced interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders on complex matters. Superior time management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage group performance and changing priorities to deliver on commitments.
