We are partnering with a modern, growth-focused accounting firm in Melbourne's South Eastern suburbs, looking for a Tax & Compliance Manager to lead their compliance function, mentor a high-performing team, and drive technical excellence across the business. The Opportunity This is a key leadership role where you will take full ownership of the firm's tax compliance function. You'll be responsible for reviewing work, maintaining high technical standards, and supporting the development of the broader accounting team. You'll work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping processes, improving systems, and contributing to the firm's ongoing growth. Key Responsibilities Oversee end-to-end tax compliance workflow, including review and sign-off Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all tax engagements Manage lodgment deadlines and ATO compliance requirements Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior team members Deliver internal training and uplift technical capability across the team Drive process improvements and contribute to SOP development Support client queries and provide high-level technical advice when required Collaborate with leadership on business strategy and continuous improvement About You CA/CPA qualified 10-15 years' experience in Australian public practice Strong technical expertise across companies, trusts, individuals, and SMSFs Proven experience reviewing work and mentoring team members Excellent understanding of ATO requirements and tax legislation Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly Highly organised with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement What's on Offer Flexible working arrangements (hybrid / work from home options) A genuine leadership role with autonomy and ownership -team of under 10 including off shore staff A collaborative and forward-thinking team environment Opportunity to influence systems, processes, and team development Long-term growth and progression within a modern firm If you're looking for a role where you can step up, lead, and make a real impact , we'd love to hear from you.
