Procurement & Technical Knowledge Manager – Wetherill Park, NSW Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are working with a well-established manufacturer specialising in design, mould, manufacturing, and repair of advanced fibreglass and composite products. With over four decades of industry experience, our client delivers high-quality, engineered products to sectors including transport, infrastructure, defence, marine, and construction. Our client is now seeking a qualified and experienced Procurement & Technical Knowledge Manager to oversee strategic sourcing of complex raw materials while acting as a central technical resource lead capturing, documenting, and managing our proprietary manufacturing processes. This role bridges procurement, engineering, and production, ensuring supply chain strategy and proprietary technical knowledge are captured, standardised, and optimised to enable efficient, scalable manufacturing. Location – Wetherill Park, NSW. Salary – Negotiable in the range of $100k to $110k plus superannuation per annum. Tenure – Full time and ongoing. The duties and responsibilities of the position will include: Procure critical materials (resins, fiberglass, chemicals) and negotiate supplier contracts. Develop strategic supplier partnerships with both local and international manufacturers. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements for volatile raw materials. Monitor global supply trends (resin pricing, fibre availability, freight impacts). Ensure continuity of supply for both custom projects and production runs. Work with factory floor fabricators to extract, document, and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical data. Protect and formalise internal intellectual property and manufacturing know-how. Build and maintain a structured technical knowledge base covering material specifications, process parameters, best practices, and lessons learned. Align procurement decisions with technical and quality requirements. Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising structural integrity or finish quality. Act as the vital link between external suppliers and internal production realities. You should be able to demonstrate the following attributes and strengths to be considered: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Information Management, or any other relevant discipline is strictly required. Proven professional experience of three or more years in procurement or supply chain management within composites or manufacturing industry. Strong stakeholder engagement across production, engineering, and suppliers. Exceptional negotiation skills. A highly analytical mindset. Strong ability to translate complex, hands-on technical processes and SOPs into clear, accessible documentation. Structured thinker with strong attention to detail. Commercially aware with technical depth. Collaborative, with the ability to influence across teams. Experience with knowledge management systems or document control platforms.
