While driving high-quality, person-centred care across Open Minds’ Medicare Mental Health Services, our centres offer assessment, triage, warm referrals, immediate and short-medium term support for people with varying levels of need, including those in crisis. As a Lived Experience Worker, you’ll draw on your own lived or living experience of mental health challenges and recovery to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support. Your unique insights will help foster trust, inspire hope and promote person-centred care. You'll be a vital part of a diverse and welcoming team that is committed to fostering growth, both for our consumers and for you. A personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery or caring for a family member with mental health challenges, is an essential requirement for this role. Responsibilities Connect and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, CALD and LGBTQIA individuals, and those at risk of homelessness or suicide. Support capacity building, wellbeing skills, and co-facilitate group programs and outreach activities. Utilise your lived experience to advocate for consumers and the voice of lived experience. Support consumers by linking them to services such as physical activities, housing, and care coordination. Implement knowledge of ethical considerations around confidentiality and professional boundaries.
