Join our brand new multidisciplinary mental health team in the Northern Gold Coast! While driving high-quality, person-centred care across Open Minds’ Medicare Mental Health Services, our centres offer assessment, triage, warm referrals, immediate and short-medium term support for people with varying levels of need, including those in crisis. As a Senior Lived Experience Peer Worker, you’ll bring extensive practical experience and formal training in peer work to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented support to consumers. This role models best practice in peer work and provides mentoring, guidance and support to other Lived Experience Workers across the organisation. Working collaboratively with stakeholders contributing to service development, co-design initiatives and lived experience leadership, helping to shape inclusive, person-centred services at Open Minds. A personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery or caring for a family member with mental health challenges, is an essential requirement for this role. Responsibilities Deliver high level, recovery-oriented peer support in complex service environments, using lived experience within appropriate professional boundaries to build trust, empowerment and hope. Provide leadership in peer practice by mentoring Lived Experience Workers, supporting reflective practice, supervision and ongoing professional development. Contribute to co design, evaluation, lived experience advisory processes and continuous improvement to strengthen service quality and innovation. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to support person centred recovery planning, warm referrals, advocacy, and human rights focused practice. Facilitate peer led group programs and community activities, and actively participate in service and community events, including some after-hours work.
