Job description The Company Troocoo are proudly partnered with a growing building products supplier based in Brisbane’s Northern Suburbs to recruit a Category Manager to drive the commercial performance of key product categories. This is a full-time, permanent role, 5-days in the office. The Role The Category Buyer is responsible for product strategy development, supplier negotiation and relationship management, pricing optimisation, and inventory performance to ensure product ranges align with customer demand, market trends and the organisation’s growth strategy. Key responsibilities include: Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business growth objectives Manage the product lifecycle, including product launches, range optimisation and discontinuation Analyse category performance, market trends and customer demand Identify opportunities to expand the product range and introduce new products Build and manage strategic relationships with suppliers Negotiate pricing, supply agreements and commercial terms Work with supply chain teams to optimise inventory levels and product availability Support demand planning and forecasting processes Monitor inventory turnover and stock performance Identify opportunities to reduce slow-moving or obsolete stock Skills & Experience Proven experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Supply Chain role Experience managing product categories and supplier relationships Building product experience is highly desirable but not essential Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interpret data is required Must have a flexible approach to work and undertake new tasks quickly Please note that we are only accepting applications from candidates who are currently based in Australia and hold full working rights.
