The Opportunity This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the overall performance of a multi-site operation across Burnie, Devonport and Ulverstone, delivering approximately 450–500 services per year. You’ll lead a team of 12–15, working closely with an experienced Operations Manager, and play a key role in driving team performance, service excellence, and community engagement. You will be a visible leader in the business, supporting your team day-to-day while maintaining a broader oversight across all locations. Key focus areas include: Leading, coaching and developing a team through regular support, visibility and mentorship Building a strong, values-led culture focused on care, professionalism and collaboration Driving consistency and performance across multiple locations Building trusted relationships with families, community groups and key stakeholders Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across multiple sites, including rostering, resourcing and service delivery Lead and develop team performance while maintaining a hands-on, visible leadership style Manage financial performance, service levels and operational outcomes Support families with empathy and professionalism during emotionally significant moments Strengthen community engagement and brand presence across the region Maintain high standards across compliance, administration and service delivery About You This role is suited to leaders from service-driven environments such as healthcare, hospitality, retail, community services or similar. You will bring: Proven leadership experience (this is essential) A calm, empathetic and professional communication style Strong stakeholder and community engagement skills The ability to lead through influence, build trust and bring a team together Emotional resilience and comfort working in sensitive environments A current unrestricted driver’s licence Multi-site experience is highly regarded, but not essential. No prior funeral industry experience is required — full training and support will be provided.
