We are currently partnering with a leading organisation in the resources and energy sector to appoint an experienced Senior Commissioning Specialist to support a portfolio of operational and major capital projects. Hours: M-F 45 hours per week Start: ASAP start Length: 12 months with potential to extend - depending on client requirements Hourly rate: $100.00 - 130.00 p/h Super depending on experience The Role: We are partnering with a leading resources and energy organisation delivering a diverse portfolio of sustaining capital and major projects across mining, processing and decarbonisation initiatives. An opportunity exists for a Senior Commissioning Specialist to play a critical role in shaping how projects are commissioned - before they reach site. This is a front-end commissioning role, focused on strategy, planning and readiness, with influence across multiple concurrent projects. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for developing commissioning approaches across both brownfield operational projects and major capital projects. This role is not site execution focused - instead, you will ensure projects are set up for safe, efficient and successful commissioning outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Develop commissioning strategies, systemisation and staging plans Define commissioning sequencing, system priorities and boundaries Prepare commissioning documentation including work packs and ITRs Embed commissioning requirements early across engineering, construction and procurement Identify commissioning risks and influence design outcomes Support readiness for key milestones including energisation and start-up Facilitate safe integration of new systems into live operating environments Experience: You are a senior commissioning professional who combines hands-on delivery experience with strong front-end planning capability. Proven experience in both commissioning planning and on-site execution Strong background in systemisation, sequencing and commissioning work pack development Experience leading commissioning across multi-discipline systems (mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation & control) Solid understanding of isolations, system boundaries and staged commissioning approaches Demonstrated experience commissioning within brownfield / live operating environments Highly regarded: Experience with balance of plant utilities (air, water, nitrogen, fuel systems) Exposure to bulk materials handling systems (conveyors, crushers, processing plants) Background in major hazard facilities (oil & gas, chemical, or similar high-risk environments) If you are interested in the role and fit the criteria, please apply online today!
