We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Leader to join our WA Logistics team, based at our Naval Base site and reporting to the Logistics Manager - WA. Covering WA road transport operations, you will lead a team of Heavy Vehicle Operators while ensuring safety, compliance and customer service excellence across the region. No two days will be the same as you balance fleet management, cost control and team leadership in a fast-paced environment. Your Opportunity In this role you will: Lead, coach and mentor a team of Heavy Vehicle Operators to drive a high performing, collaborative team with a strong focus on customer service excellence Manage WA road transport operations in full compliance with relevant legislation including Chain of Responsibility, Main Roads WA and fatigue management Ensure compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme requirements Manage cost reporting across repair and maintenance, labour, owner drivers and third-party logistics costs against key metrics Lead incident investigations including product contamination, breakdowns, traffic incidents and injury management Manage owner driver and third-party logistics provider contracts and associated documentation Participate in daily schedule planning and manage driver and vehicle availability Conduct customer site safety audits including travel to regional locations Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across safety, cost and fleet management Prepare and deliver regular toolbox talks with drivers What You’ll Bring Demonstrated commitment to safety with a strong understanding of WHS legislation 3-4 years’ experience in a similar transport management role, ideally with pneumatic bulk tanker experience Strong knowledge of road transport legislation including Chain of Responsibility, WAHVA, fatigue management and Main Roads WA Experience managing owner drivers and third-party logistics providers Mechanically minded with the ability to forecast and respond proactively to operational challenges Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work independently Intermediate or above IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP HC licence and Pressure Tanker experience desirable WHS qualification or training essential Why Join Cement Australia?
