We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Truck Driver to join our Tree Maintenance team in delivering a high level of presentation for the City’s parks, gardens, reserves, sportsgrounds, streetscapes, and roadsides. Permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week). Remuneration of $2,225.88 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,671.06 gross per fortnight superannuation (12%). Your new role: In this role you will not only operate Council’s plant and equipment, but you will also actively participate in various tree care activities. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Safely operate Council’s plant and equipment with an emphasis on MR truck operation for tree maintenance activities, including transportation of equipment, supplies and tree debris. Collaborate with a team of tree care professionals in performing a range of tasks such as gardening, pruning, tree removals, lifting and raking, tree planting and watering, and pest/disease control. Follow established routes and schedules for tree maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Maintain a strong focus on safety, following proper protocols and utilising appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) i.e., performing routine maintenance checks and inspections on plant and equipment to ensure safety and reliability. As the successful applicant, you will hold the following : Class MR Driver’s Licence. General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card). Current NSW RTA Traffic Certificates – Traffic Controller (Blue) / Apply Traffic Control Plans (Yellow). Hold or willing to obtain qualifications relevant to the role i.e., Certificate II in Horticulture, Certificate of Competency - Chainsaw Trim and Cut Felled Trees, Trim Trees using a Polesaw and AQF Level 3 Chemical Accreditation (Desirable). Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with experience in the tree care industry. Be able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, and effective task prioritisation. In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this. What is next?
