About The School We are a rural school catering for approximately 580 students in Years 7 to 12. Our dedicated team is committed to actively preparing every one of our students for life beyond school, where they are capable of enjoying the benefits of our society as a consequence of being actively employed. Due to our community and size we are able to engage with students and their families on an individual level to ensure students are supported to build their skills and knowledge, and achieve the academic results needed to leave our school bound for University, TAFE or to enter gainful employment. About The Role Student support officers play a vital part in ensuring student engagement in a positive environment that supports learning, wellbeing, and school pride. The student support officer is required to be mobile and flexible in their work across the school site. The role involves moving between classrooms and learning spaces to provide support where it is needed. Responsibilities Include Supervising and monitoring student behaviour before and after school, and during breaks, including uniform compliance and truancy. Facilitating detentions and providing feedback on student behaviour and progress. Collecting student statements and documentation to support disciplinary processes in line with the school's Student Code of Conduct. Supporting behaviour intervention programs under the guidance of the Head of Department and classroom teachers. Monitoring program effectiveness through observation, data collection, and evaluation. Referring students to relevant staff or support services as required. Performing additional duties such as bus supervision, patrolling school grounds and nearby areas, and escorting students to class as needed. Ensuring quality and consistency in all duties, adhering to departmental guidelines and continuously seeking process improvements. About You Strong organisational and time management skills. Effective communication and a collaborative working style. Ability to work independently in a dynamic school environment. Confidence in following school and Departmental policies, procedures, and systems. A proactive, professional, and accountable approach to achieving student wellbeing and behavioural outcomes.
