Lead EHS across sites in South East Melbourne, driving safety culture, managing risk, and ensuring compliance in a dynamic environment. 09th March, 2026 EHS Manager South East Melbourne Permanent Position About the Role We have a permanent opportunity for an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead the EHS function based in South East Melbourne. In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance on managing safety risks while partnering with stakeholders across the business to promote a strong, high-performing safety culture. You will play a key role in improving EHS outcomes by implementing and maintaining systems, initiatives, policies, codes of practice, and risk management strategies. Key Responsibilities Conduct EHS risk assessments and implement effective controls to minimise and manage risk. Lead the EHS function across sites, including overseeing safety inductions for new team members. Develop and maintain technical procedures, documentation, and health & safety management plans for projects and operations. Establish and manage safety governance processes, including regular reviews of safety plans and KPIs. Contribute to future tenders by supporting the development of safety strategies and frameworks. Develop, implement, and maintain procedures and tools within the health and safety management system, ensuring alignment with industry standards Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure full compliance with safety regulations. Partner with business leaders to strengthen safety culture and influence positive behavioural change. Design and deliver training programs in partnership with HR, alongside a targeted EHS communication strategy. Lead incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented. Plan and coordinate internal audits to ensure effective safety reporting and compliance processes. About You Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related field. Strong understanding of local regulatory requirements, ideally including rail safety. Demonstrated experience within construction, infrastructure, rail, or another safety-critical environment. Solid knowledge of safe work systems, rules, and procedures. Strong reporting skills with the ability to deliver clear and accurate updates to senior leadership and external stakeholders. High resilience and the ability to perform in fast-paced, site-based environments. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams while driving positive safety outcomes.
