Eastern Murrumbidgee Youth Service (EMYS) is seeking a dedicated casual Youth Worker to join our experienced and values‑driven team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting vulnerable young people during critical stages of their lives. As a Residential Youth Worker, you will provide practical, trauma‑informed and youth‑centred support to young people experiencing crisis and homelessness. You will help create a safe, supportive and structured environment while supporting young people to build skills, achieve goals, and transition to stable accommodation. This role requires flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster , including evenings, weekends and overnight shifts. Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide direct, hands‑on support to young people in a residential crisis setting Undertake client intake, assessments, inductions and documentation Support young people with daily living needs including meals, hygiene and safety Maintain a child and youth safe environment in line with National Principles for Child Safe Organisations Support young people to work towards individual support plan goals and life skills development Assist with group programs and workshops Liaise with case managers and external services Accurately complete case notes, reports and administrative tasks Contribute to the safe, effective and inclusive running of the service Requirements for Success Relevant qualifications in Social/Community Welfare/Youth Work/Social Science, or relevant experience Experience or understanding of working with young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness Strong knowledge of NSW child protection and mandatory reporting requirements, and the ability to respond appropriately to child safety concerns Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of team and provide support. Professional approach to the role including maintaining professional boundaries. Demonstrated ability to undertake basic functional day-to-day support of clients. Current First Aid Certificate A current NSW drivers’ licence Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
