About Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our dynamic café and bakehouse team. The role involves overseeing kitchen operations, contributing to menu development, and ensuring high-quality food production while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards. Duties: Design and update menus featuring globally inspired dishes such as marinated grilled meats, seafood preparations, fusion-style bowls, and pasta, while forecasting food and labour costs and managing supply procurement Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes at every stage, ensuring consistency in flavour, portioning, and plating across items such as souvlaki skewers, linguine, tacos, and premium protein-based meals Liaise with management and service teams to coordinate kitchen operations, address preparation challenges, and ensure seamless delivery of high-quality dishes Guide and mentor kitchen staff on advanced cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, pan-frying, and sauce preparation to maintain culinary standards Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes, including seafood, poultry, meat-based mains, and internationally inspired cuisine, ensuring adherence to established recipes and quality benchmarks Implement and enforce strict food safety and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Participate in recruitment, training, and supervision of kitchen staff to build a skilled and efficient team Oversee proper handling, storage, and preservation of food items, ensuring freshness and minimising wastage across all perishable ingredients Requirements Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Chef Qualifications: Applicants must hold Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management along with a Diploma of Hospitality Management, both of which are mandatory for this role.
