About the Role Support Aboriginal families to confidently nurture their children's early learning and development as a Koori Family's First Educator Practitioner (KFFE Practitioner). Using a strengths-based approach that empowers parents/carers, as first educators of their children, in this role as a KFFE Practitioner you will support families through the implementation of culturally appropriate evidence based positive parenting support programs. This includes creating a culturally safe environment for families and children to learn, supporting positive parent-child interactions and development of parenting skills, supporting child development and school readiness. You will also provide information about services including maternal child health, playgroup, and early childhood education services including kindergarten This is a permanent full time position based at our Mildura office location. Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to develop strategies to assist families attend key appointments/services/professional, both internally and externally to help in achieving goals outlined in their Family Support Plans. Ability conduct home visits as required and at times assist with the transportation needs of clients ensuring their ability to attend necessary appointments. Demonstrated ability to act as a key conduit and contact point between the child, the family and other professional services ensuring relevant information is shared between all without jeopardising confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to fulfill program requirements regarding case notes, reporting, and other data records including the use and maintenance of records on relevant IT systems. Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services Qualification/s: Certificate IV in Community Services Other Screening Requirements: Valid Driver's License that allows you to drive in Australia. Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card. National Police Check.
