Introduction About the Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre We are a client-centred organisation, supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions, offering a range of specialist support services to people impacted by sexual and family violence, encompassing 24 hour crisis care, specialist response services, early intervention programs, Victims Assistance Program, Community Legal Services, trauma recovery programs, professional training and primary prevention initiatives. Description About The Role The position coordinates the planning, delivery and evaluation of Respect Starts Here across multiple sporting codes and translates evidence into club ready tools, workshops and code/setting appropriate implementation plans. The Primary Prevention Officer will be responsible for supporting participants to identify actions that will strengthen culture, leadership pathways, enhance the participation and retention of women and gender diverse people, delivery bystander training, analysis gender equity needs assessment surveys and present data insights for the development of action plans. Project management, sport setting engagement, program promotion and campaigns, and program delivery are core responsibilities of this position. The program is delivered by the Primary Prevention Team within the Practice, Prevention and Capability Unit and is based in Geelong West. The role reports to the Manager, Primary Prevention. Key Selection Criteria Key Selection Criteria Your application must address the following: Essential Qualifications and Experience Relevant tertiary qualifications in public health, health promotion, gender studies, community development, or relevant discipline. Minimum two years’ experience working in primary prevention or related sector. Essential Skills and Knowledge Experience or understanding of community sport settings, sporting codes, and sports clubs, particularly football and netball clubs Knowledge of Victorian Government’s Inquiry into Women and Girls in Sport and Active Recreation and Change our Game initiative, and the Fair Access Policy Roadmap Strong understanding of the frameworks and evidence base for preventing violence against women, specifically related to sexual assault and family violence (or willingness to develop this). Effective project management, problem solving and negotiation skills to identify issues and make recommendations\ Demonstrated ability to apply an innovative engagement approach in primary prevention practice approaches Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and ability to tailor to audience and purpose Public speaking, Facilitation and training skills, including the ability to deliver workshops, engage diverse groups, and present information clearly and confidently. Demonstrated understanding Theory of Change frameworks for program design and evaluation related to sporting clubs. Period of Appointment This position is ongoing depending on funding. Hours of Work The position is part time. Location of the position is at the Geelong office with requirement to deliver project activities with sporting clubs across the Barwon area. Hours will usually be worked during business hours of 9.00am to 5.06 pm between Monday to Friday. Evening session delivery as required. The days are based on the needs of the project and service. Flexibility in working hours will be required from time to time as the need arises. Salary and Conditions Annual salary range is as a Business Services classification, Level 3. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. Industrial Instrument: The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre Enterprise Agreement 2023. Salary Packaging: Provided via Maxxia. PBI status with other expenses available to package above this cap. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a Public Benevolent Institution. Superannuation: The employer will also make superannuation payments on your behalf in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992.
