Your responsibilities will include managing daily activities, addressing operational challenges, and driving process improvements to boost productivity. A strong focus on safety, resource optimisation, and consistent product quality will be at the core of your role. Additionally, you will provide technical, operational, and maintenance guidance to frontline production teams. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative, motivated, and high-performing team culture. This 6 month Fixed-Term contract position is based at Inkerman Mill in the North Queensland’s Burdekin Region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage and a vibrant community. Your Role in Action Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track production and process quality indicators, report deviations, and manage major downtime. Process Optimization: Develop and implement action plans to improve product flow, stock levels, quality, breakdown response, and overall efficiency. Team Leadership: Lead, direct, and motivate a team of maintenance personnel, operators, and lab staff. People Management: Oversee and document team performance, including attendance, coaching, training, and performance reviews. Notification Management: Lead the site's Notification procedure, ensuring accurate SAP entries and quality control. Technical leadership: Drive process improvements through technical expertise and innovation. Your Winning Combination We are seeking motivated individual with previous leadership experience who can effectively communicate, influence and negotiate at all levels. You will be able to successfully engage and motivate a team towards common goals to achieve performance targets and business goals. You will hold tertiary or trade qualifications in Mechanical or Chemical disciplines or be able to demonstrate practical experience within the sugar industry or similar heavy industrial environments.
