This role offers a rare opportunity to lead a vertically integrated portfolio, responsible for the full supply chain of energy (generation, transmission, distribution and retail) whilst driving coordinated decisions that balance community outcomes, public policy and commercial performance. What You’ll Do As the Executive General Manager – Remote Communities , you will hold end to end accountability for the delivery of electricity services across 117 remote communities. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead a geographically dispersed division operating within a distinct P&L and unique subsidy framework. This role is central to Horizon Power’s commitment to Closing the Gap, reconciliation, and self determination. You will lead Horizon Power’s Remote Communities Service Uplift strategic initiative, ensuring service delivery transitions to compliant regulatory standards by 2031, while balancing safety, reliability, cultural integrity, and commercial sustainability. What You’ll Bring • It is imperative that you have extensive experience in the energy industry or a deep understanding and experience in a related industry. • Extensive experience across the energy value chain, with a proven track record leading complex, geographically dispersed operations. • Demonstrated success managing a large‑scale P&L within regulated and policy‑driven environments. • Strong strategic capability, able to translate long‑term vision into practical, executable outcomes. • Significant experience engaging with government, regulators, boards and diverse stakeholders. • A commitment to culturally informed leadership, reconciliation and building enduring partnerships and relationships with Aboriginal communities. • The ability to lead through complexity, manage risk, and make sound, timely decisions in high consequence environments.
