Job Title: Chief Managing Geologist Company: Our Client – International Gold Mining Company Location: Malaysia & Western Australia (Regular regional travel required) Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Position Overview Our Client, an established international gold mining company with operations in Malaysia and Western Australia, is seeking an experienced Exploration Manager/ Chief Geologist to lead and drive corporate exploration strategy across multiple assets. This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering sustainable resource growth, supporting mine expansion, and increasing overall asset value. The successful candidate will oversee regional exploration programs, technical studies, and geological teams while acting as Qualified Person (QP) for public technical disclosures. Key Responsibilities Corporate Exploration Leadership Lead and manage the Company’s corporate exploration strategy across all properties Develop and recommend regional and global exploration strategies targeting major gold systems Design, propose, and supervise near-mine and regional exploration and drilling programs Manage exploration budgets and ensure adherence to timelines and financial controls Oversee the Company’s exploration project portfolio with clear objectives and milestones Mine Expansion (Priority Focus) for the project in Malaysia Lead the mine expansion program Increase near-mine resources and reserves to support a minimum five-year Life of Mine (LOM) Integrate exploration outcomes into mine planning Coordinate drilling programs and monitor progress Exploration for the project in Western Australia Supervise and advance exploration for Western Australia project Support gold inventory supply for Western Australia mine production Technical Studies & NI 43-101 Compliance Oversee resource and reserve estimation Support JORC or NI 43-101 Technical Reports, due diligence reviews, and economic studies Prepare and review technical disclosures, MD&A, and news releases as Qualified Person (QP) or Competent Person (CP) Ensure QA/QC standards, safety, and high-quality geological work Provide timely technical analysis and critical findings to the CEO Regulatory & Stakeholder Compliance Assist in compliance related to Native Title and heritage matters Support heritage surveys and consultation processes Ensure exploration activities comply with legal and cultural requirements Team & Consultant Management Lead and mentor senior geologists and exploration teams Engage and manage external consultants for technical reporting and specialized studies Negotiate technical contracts and manage resource allocation Data & Systems Governance Oversee geological GIS and database systems Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility Promote effective utilization of geological databases First Two-Year Objectives Achieve significant growth in gold resources and reserves Deliver annual gold inventory growth Support sustainable mine production Drive mine expansion and regional exploration success Enhance overall mineral asset value Requirements Minimum 15–20 years’ experience in gold exploration and resource development Proven track record in resource growth and near-mine expansion Strong experience with resource estimation and JORC or NI 43-101 reporting Qualified Person (QP) or Competent Person (CP) eligibility Experience in open-pit gold systems preferred Strong leadership and executive-level communication skills Experience working across multiple jurisdictions (Australia experience highly regarded)
