Description As the Leading Hand Fitter you are responsible for leading and supervising a maintenance team conducting general maintenance work to achieve required results. In addition the Fitter Leading Hand will carry out general mechanical work in a workshop environment and/or breakdowns on heavy mobile and fixed plant and equipment. Benefits of working with Redpath Work/life balance on an even time roster Career paths through internal promotions Salary Sacrifice for Superannuation and Novated car leasing Discounted health insurance with BUPA Exclusive access to Redpaths benefits, rewards and discounts program Employee Assistance (4 sessions per annum), well-being assistance that is free for all the family Responsibilities ensure the safe, efficient and quality completion of all tasks as assigned by the Workshop Supervisor and when that person is absent direct the crew independently; manage and allocate duties of repairs, servicing and scheduled maintenance for fitters; issue work orders to tradespersons; provide supervision and guidance for tradespersons and apprentices; ensure all work allocated for crew is carried out and that all work carried out is in accordance with the relevant Technical/Standard Work Procedures;; ensure equipment is statutory compliant, all repairs are completed in a timely manner and all work is done to a high safety and quality standard; assist tradespersons and apprentices with the mechanical work, hydraulic diagnosis and repair of faults when required; Qualifications relevant Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment / Diesel Fitter trade qualifications; experience working in mining, shaft sinking, heavy industry or major construction projects; valid manual drivers licence; current First Aid & CPR qualification; demonstrated strong fault finding skills; auto electrical knowledge; ability to read schematics; demonstrated leadership ability; high levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure; strong planning and organisational skills to schedule and complete tasks;
