Job Description Position: Interim Chief Financial Officer Organisation: Not-for-profit organisation Location: Canberra, ACT Start Date: As soon as possible Duration: Approximately 6 months (potential to extend) Salary: $200,000 per annum plus 12% super Overview Working in partnership with government, industry and the broader community, the organisation plays a key role in driving improved standards, delivering education initiatives and supporting ethical practices nationwide. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer to join the organisation during a critical financial period, ensuring continuity of leadership, governance and financial oversight. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and forming part of the Executive Management Team, this role will lead a small finance team and provide high-level strategic and operational financial support. Key responsibilities: Overseeing end-of-year financial reporting and quality assurance Leading the budgeting and forecasting processes Preparing and presenting financial reports to the Board Managing cash flow and financial performance Ensuring strong financial controls, compliance, and audit processes Identifying and managing organisational financial risks Providing strategic financial advice to the CEO and Board Engaging with and supporting relevant sub-committees Supporting the implementation of a new financial management system Skills/experience required: CA or CPA qualified with experience in senior financial leadership roles Strong commercial and business acumen Experience contributing to strategic and operational planning Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills High-level interpersonal and negotiation capabilities Experience within the not-for-profit sector (highly regarded) Apply now or contact Angel Malkovich on 6260 8888 at SOS Recruitment for a confidential discussion.
