About the Position The Skilled Meat Worker plays a vital role in ensuring MEATS R US PTY LTD T/A Big Meats Queensland continues to deliver superior-quality meat products to its customers. This full-time position involves hands-on processing, cutting and preparation of a variety of meats to exacting customer and business specifications, contributing directly to the company’s reputation for excellence, product consistency and food safety compliance within a fast-paced production and retail setting. Key Responsibilities Cutting, trimming, boning and preparing a range of meat cuts to customer specifications and business standards. Producing high-quality house-made sausages, smallgoods and value-added meat products using traditional and modern techniques. Operating and safely maintaining meat processing equipment, including saws, grinders and packaging machinery. Maintaining strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations at all times. Assisting with inventory management, stock rotation and ensuring product freshness. Providing professional customer service for custom orders and retail interactions where required. Working collaboratively as part of a team to meet daily production targets while upholding quality and efficiency. Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Required qualifications: AQF Certificate III in Meat Processing (or equivalent). Required experience: Minimum 2 years in a skilled meat worker role within a butcher shop, meat processing facility or similar environment. Required technical and interpersonal skills: Proficiency in meat cutting, trimming, boning and smallgoods production techniques; sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (including HACCP principles); ability to operate meat processing machinery safely and efficiently; strong attention to detail and precision in all tasks; effective communication and teamwork skills; and the physical stamina required for standing for extended periods and manual handling in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment.
