About the role The role will be responsible for planning, creating, and managing engaging content across Council’s digital channels to foster growth and community interaction. They will work collaboratively to deliver consistent storytelling and impactful content that reflects the City of Parramatta’s vision, values, and diverse community. On a daily basis you will: Create and deliver high‑quality, multi‑format content across video, audio, photography, graphics and written assets, managing end‑to‑end production while ensuring accessibility, consistency, and alignment with the City’s brand, tone of voice and content standards. Develop compelling, audience‑first copy for blogs, web, social, video scripts and EDMs, tailoring messaging, tone and format to suit channels, campaign objectives and audience needs. Collaborate with Marketing, Communications and internal stakeholders to deliver integrated content initiatives that support organisational priorities, campaigns and corporate narratives. Implement content strategy and planning by translating content pillars and campaign priorities into practical content plans, maintaining an engaging content calendar that balances timely engagement with long‑term storytelling. Provide strategic content advisory and optimisation support, including recommending formats and channels, monitoring trends and social conversations, maintaining the DAM system, and continuously improving content impact while remaining brand‑safe and compliant. About You The successful candidate should have a proactive and creative mindset and an innovative approach to content ideation. You will also bring the below requirements: Tertiary qualifications (minimum cert IV) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field or 5 years' experience in a similar role. Current motor vehicle license Proficient in programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Cap Cut, Final Cut Pro, InShot, and other mobile editing applications Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills across web/blog, social, video scripts and EDM-style content. Comfortable behind the camera and in front of it.
